Update March 4, 2006 Build it and they will come ... sometimes that works and other times it doesn't. There is always a risk when you do something outside of your own backyard. Panelwest West never really got off the ground for a variety of reasons I know of and for reasons I don't. First off our convention was in Anaheim and we were not able to get a permit for a show, our hotel was right across from the main gate of Disneyland. Secondly the show had to be on Friday due to meetings all day Saturday. This proved a major obstacle that I had hoped we could overcome. We did have a display of custom vans and fortunately we did have two panels there too. Huge thanks to Rick from Hotrodlife.com for coming to the show with his very cool 53. We had a great talk with him and he convinced a bunch of us to go to the Donut Derelicts cruise the next day where I was able to see two more panels that I had seen on the net and in the magazines. Panelfest West did not work out this year, but there is always 2007 . . . the groundwork has been laid. The panel pictures from California can be found here: California Panels 2006
